NSA Tracks Turned-Off Phones — But Phone Makers Don't Know How

J. Melzian

In Berlin (and Germany in general) it is known that the police can use your mobphone as a microphone/sender to spy upon your talking EVEN if you switched it off. Berlin's police president Klaus Kandt, ex Bundeswehr, does this in 100,000 quantities, and this technique is called "silent sms_es": an sms is sent that switches the phone ON without showing it, then they can listen to you and surely also "track" you. Only help: taking battery out.
